On Saturday, February 28, 2015, I performed a recital in New York City as part of Carnegie Hall’s Neighbourhood Concert Series. The recital was held at St. Michael’s Church in Manhattan, and featured the wonderful Liz Upchurch at the piano.
The recital featured Schumann’s powerful song cycle, Dichterliebe, three songs by Liszt, four folk songs by Britten, and a trio of Italian “lollipops” to round out the evening. My encore was the beautiful “Una furtiva lagrima” from Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.
This was my very first performance in New York City, which made it even more exciting. Many thanks to everyone who attended! It was a wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to my next visit to the Big Apple—in the very near future!
